Apple Earthquake Cake

Ingredients

Fresh apples, peeled and sliced

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup butter, melted

Caramel sauce
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
Gradually add the melted butter to the egg mixture, stirring continuously.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
Gently fold in the sliced apples until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter, then add the remaining batter on top.
Use a knife to create a swirl pattern in the batter for the ‘earthquake’ effect.
Bake the cake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce if desired.
Enjoy a slice of warm Apple Earthquake Cake with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
