1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, portion out the dough and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a fork and decorate with sprinkles or colored sugar if desired.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
