Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup lump crab meat
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 egg
For Lemon Butter:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, and black pepper.
Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheddar cheese, lump crab meat, parsley, and milk until just combined.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times until it comes together. Do not overwork the dough.
Roll out the dough to 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, beat the egg with a splash of milk to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the biscuits with the egg wash.
Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown and cooked through.
For Lemon Butter: In a saucepan, melt unsalted butter over low heat. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper. Cook for a few minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat and stir in chopped chives.
Serve warm lemon butter alongside freshly baked Crab Stuffed Cheddar Bay Biscuits for dipping.
