maple twist cookies

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream together softened butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Add maple syrup and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing well.
Gradually incorporate flour and salt into the wet ingredients to form a smooth dough.
Fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips for added flavor and texture.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 1/4 inch thick rectangle.
Cut the dough into strips, twist gently, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown around the edges.
