Southern Potluck Lemon Cream Cheese Bread

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugarDessert subscription box

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon lemon zest

4 oz cream cheese, softened
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the sour cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well combined.
Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Spoon half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then add a layer of cream cheese. Top with the remaining batter.
Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
