Swedish Visiting Cake

Ingredients

1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter

1 cup (200g) sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (50g) sliced almonds (optional for topping)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a round cake pan with parchment paper.
Cream together the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Optionally, sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly gooey.
Allow the cake to cool before slicing and serving. Enjoy with coffee or your favorite beverage.
