Best Ever Quiche Recipe

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

4-6 tablespoons ice water

6 large eggs

1 ½ cups milk

1 cup shredded cheese (such as Gruyere or Cheddar)

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: diced vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms)
Directions
Prepare the Crust: Start by making the crust. In a bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the ice water until the dough comes together.
Chill the Dough: Form the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a circle slightly larger than your pie dish. Transfer the dough to the dish and press it into the bottom and sides. Trim any excess dough.
Prebake the Crust: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line the crust with parchment paper and pie weights. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the weights and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir in the shredded cheese and any additional fillings.
Bake the Quiche: Pour the filling into the prebaked crust. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
Serve and Enjoy: Allow the quiche to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature with salad or fruit on the side.
