Blackberry Dumplings

Ingredients

2 cups fresh blackberries

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions
In a saucepan, combine fresh blackberries and granulated sugar. Cook over medium heat until the blackberries release their juices and the mixture thickens, stirring occasionally.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined to form a soft, sticky dough.
Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling dough into the simmering blackberries. Cover the saucepan and let the dumplings steam for about 15 minutes until cooked through.
Serve the Blackberry Dumplings warm, spooning the berry mixture and dumplings into bowls. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent touch.
Enjoy the delightful combination of sweet blackberries and fluffy dumplings in every bite. Best served fresh but can be refrigerated for a day or two.
