Ingredients
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)
Directions
Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the yellow cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in the prepared dish until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add the brown sugar and stir until combined.
Add the sweetened condensed milk to the butter and sugar mixture, stirring constantly until smooth and well combined.
Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake once baked, then pour the buttery pecan mixture over the top, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cake, then let it cool to room temperature before serving.
Serve slices of the Butter Pecan Poke Cake with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
