Ingredients
1 pound ground hamburger meat
1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, diced
2 stalks of celery, diced
3 cloves of garlic, minced
6 cups beef broth
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
Seasonings (such as salt, pepper, and herbs of your choice)
Directions
In a large pot, brown the ground hamburger meat over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
Add chopped onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
Stir in the beef broth, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs of your choice. Bring the soup to a simmer.
Add chopped cabbage to the pot and simmer until the cabbage is tender, about 20-30 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve the cabbage soup with hamburger hot, garnished with fresh herbs or a dollop of sour cream if desired.
