Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup brandy or rum
1 cup mixed dried fruits (e.g., raisins, cranberries, apricots)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts, pecans)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
Combine dried fruits, nuts, and spices in a separate bowl. Toss to mix evenly.
Cream butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy in a large mixing bowl.
Add egg, vanilla extract, and brandy or rum. Beat until well combined.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mix until just combined.
Fold in the dried fruit and nut mixture, ensure even distribution throughout the dough.
Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded dough onto the baking sheet, spacing a few inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
Cool on the baking sheet briefly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving for a festive touch.
Enjoy the cookies with a hot beverage and share with loved ones.
