Ingredients
6-8 slices of day-old bread
1/2 cup raisins
3 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp butter
A pinch of salt
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking dish with butter.
Cut the bread slices into cubes and place them in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle raisins over the bread cubes.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Pour this custard mixture over the bread and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.
Dot the top of the bread pudding with butter before placing it in the oven.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
