Classic Diner Beef Lombardi

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, diced

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 can of tomato sauce

1 can of diced tomatoes

1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

8 ounces of uncooked pasta

2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

Grated Parmesan cheese for topping
Directions
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
Add the diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onions are translucent.
Pour in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked pasta, followed by half of the meat sauce, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers.
If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top for an extra cheesy crust.
Bake the Beef Lombardi in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
