Ingredients
4-5 ripe bananas
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
Optional: chopped nuts or whipped cream for serving
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Peel and slice the ripe bananas into rounds and place them in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter over the sliced bananas in the baking dish, spreading it evenly to cover the fruit.
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture over the batter in the baking dish.
Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the crust comes out clean.
Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. You can top it with chopped nuts or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special touch.
